Bright Ideas

Natural or artificial, light plays an integral role inside the Grand C4 Picasso. There are a range of controls to create your own internal ambience whilst large windows and the super-wide panoramic windscreen and glass sunroof all combine for a brighter journey.

The Grand C4 Picasso has lots of bright ideas. For those times when you simply must have a fully charged torch, reach for your rechargeable boot lamp come hand-held torch in the boot.

Optional reading lights are positioned on the backs of the front seats. Passengers simply fold down the aircraft-style tray and switch on, without the need to disturb the driver or other passengers.

Light Control

Want to tone things down? Easy. You decide how much sunlight comes in. The panoramic windscreen is cleverly equipped with two independent sliding sunblinds, which can be quickly adjusted by sliding manually to the position required.

The rear windows have been designed with retractable sunblind curtains and integrated rollers, which filter light while offering a clear view outside. (Row 3 windows and rear tail door optional)

Optimum Driving Comfort

The Grand C4 Picasso dashboard and cabin layout uses innovative design and smart technology to create the freedom for a new driving experience. The unique driving position completely frees the dashboard, grouping the gearbox mode selector and gearshift paddle controls on the steering wheel.

For maximum optical clarity, driving and comfort information appears on an easily adjustable, optically enhanced screen in the centre of the dashboard.

Front seat passengers each have their own air-conditioning and temperature controller located at each end of the dashboard.

Take a Seat

The unique and original moving seat design of the Grand C4 Picasso creates easy access to row three. Activate the control and the cushions to the outer seats in row two automatically lift up towards the seat back. Just slide the seat forward up against the front seat-backs in a single movement and free the space for immediate access to the third row.

The diesel engine is matched to a 5 speed semi-automatic transmission which delivers an open road fuel consumption figure of an amzaing 5 Litres per 100kms, making the Grand C4 Picasso the most efficient choice on the market in its class.

Petrol engines are equipped with, European on Board Diagnostic system (EOBD), which detects any malfunction leading to the authorized emission thresholds being surpassed, while both diesel engines are fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter System, (DPFS) against black fumes, which guarantees that combustion residues are completely burnt away.

The Grand C4 Picasso pays particular attention to child safety. The Child-lock system is operated by electric controls within easy reach of the driver's hand, which instantly lock and unlock the windows and rear doors.

In Safe Hands

In the event of an impact, the Grand C4 Picasso features a steering column airbag protecting the driver's knees and shins. The driver's airbag is designed to be deployed at the required, precise angle for optimal protection. Further protection is built-in so that the pressure and volume of the airbag automatically adjusts with the force of collision.

In the front seats are two further side airbags for thorax and body protection while two curtain airbags offer head protection for all passengers in the first two rows of seats.

Electric Braking

The Grand C4 Picasso's automatic electric parking brake improves comfort and safety. This electric brake is automatically applied when the engine stops. The ECU works in tandem with the ESP to calculate the force required to immobilise the vehicle, depending on the gradient of the road. As soon as the torque applied to the drive wheels is sufficient, the parking brake is automatically released.

The electric handbrake control is located within easy reach in the middle of the dashboard, and can be used to apply the parking brake in a conventional manner if required.

Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) operates automatically on the distribution of braking power together with the engine speed to stabilise the trajectory of the car on bends as soon as any risk of oversteer or understeer has been detected by the system's electronic sensors.

The traction control (ASR) is linked to the ESP and immediately reduces the excess power to the driving wheels in the event of wheel spin. It also operates when moving off should excessive acceleration be applied on a slippery road surface.

Anti-Lock Braking System

The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) electronically regulates braking pressure to avoid wheel-locking so the driver can maintain road holding and the ability to steer the vehicle when braking.

Connected to the ABS, the Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) ensures braking pressure is evenly applied to the wheels (front-rear and right-left) so that, should the need arise; maximum effect can be achieved from the braking power. Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) instantly amplifies braking pressure in the event of an emergency so that the stopping distance is the shortest possible.
